About Us
Empowering Change, One Heart at a Time
Who We Are
Three students at the University of Central Florida recognized the vulnerability of the homeless community to cardiac disease due to a variety of factors, including lack of access to healthcare and information. They founded an organization to address this health disparity, now called Hearts for the Homeless (H4H) International. Since then, they've spread their impact by establishing more than 30 chapters worldwide. The H4H UNLV Chapter has been a registered student organization at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas since Spring 2023 and continues to serve the Las Vegas community.
What We Do
Our chapter aims to improve the health outcomes of the unhoused population in Las Vegas by partnering with local nonprofits organizations and free healthcare clinics. We strive to eliminate health disparities by providing free blood pressure screenings and other healthcare services, promoting heart health education, and engaging in community service. Our organization also makes it accessible for pre-health students to earn clinical hours and leadership experience for professional school.
